These are the times when all one would hear about Sierra Leone in the various national and international media houses are stories about the rebel war in which senseless Sierra Leoneans perpetrated some of the most barbaric crimes against their fellow Sierra Leoneans, including innocent children. I remember one occasion on the first day of class after I had introduced myself so proudly to my students as a son of Sierra Leone

Ade, a very good friend of mine, always forwards numerous articles by email, often fascinating ones on Sierra Leone and Africa.  Like the one published on the BBC, “New business hope for Sierra Leone's war children” by Jon Cronin.   I enjoyed reading that one.  It was about the entrepreneurial determination of the youth to drive Sierra Leone’s development
