A Wretched Betrayal....Sama Banya Takes The Gauntlet
Posted by Dr. Sama S.Banya aka Puawui on Mar 14, 2011, 20:31
Regular readers of the Standard Times Newspaper must be aware that over the years there has been no love lost between the owner/publisher Philip Neville and myself. He either fabricates false stories about me, stories which have no foundation at all, or publishes with great relish unsubstantiated or hearsay stories about me. One such which several people advised me to ignore was that I had seduced my own sister from her husband and fathered a son with her.
|Sama Banya...Taking No Prisoners|
He is an expert at forging documents and doctoring photographs, which an inept IMC, the chairman of whose complaints committee doubles as the chairman of Neville’s Star Radio says is not a criminal act because his employer has never been convicted in a court. Even when the IMC found him guilty of falsifying letters and signatures in order to discredit the SLPP, and imposed a fine on him with orders to apologies to the SLPP, Neville simply ignored them after describing them as gluttonous and money hungry people.
Of late he has taken delight in publishing stupid articles about me from the honourable Tamba Borbor-Sawyer, erstwhile SLPP Member of Parliament and now a deputy minister in the government of President Ernest Bai Koroma. The latest of such articles is one which alleges that I am the father of all Mrs. Comfort Kabbah’s children and that there is a case about that pending in the local court in Kissi Tongi. This latter matter will be pursued by me this time and vigorously too.
I was therefore curious when I saw a pleasant and smiling photograph of me in the Wednesday March 9 editor of the Standard Times Newspaper which was soon followed by a true reproduction of a letter that I and my colleagues had addressed to the national chairman of the SLPP John Benjamin. The letter contained the signatures of my colleagues and myself and was shared only among us and Mr. Benjamin.
Sierra Leone Peoples Party's Bu-Buakei Jabbie Speaks Out.. ‘I’M GREEN AND CLEAN’
Posted by on Feb 24, 2011, 07:50
One of the Aspirants for the Sierra Leone Peoples Party flag bearer ship, Dr. Bu-Buakei Jabbie has disclosed that the process by which the SLPP wants to elect a flag bearer for 2012 Presidential Elections is not valid in that the delegates at the conference for electing the flag bearer belongs to party executives whose tenure had expired.
| Dr. Bu-Buakei Jabbie|
Speaking to this reporter in an exclusive interview yesterday at his residence, he noted that some of the party executives that form the bulk of the delegates have no valid status to elect a flag bearer of the party.
The Party Constitution, he said requires mandatory terms that executive elections shall be done once every two years and it gives no power to any organ of the party including the convention to extend the tenure of executives beyond two years without doing so through fresh elections
He revealed that a decision was taken in Bo, to which he raised points in various letters sent to the National Executive expanding on the laws involved.
Dr. Jabbie recalled in August 16, 2010 when himself and nine others intending Aspirants wrote a very lengthy letter to the National Executive raising similar points about elections as the tenures of the present executives were coming to an end.
“When no action was seen taking, I personally decided to write a letter containing a sustained legal analysis on the matter on September 17, 2010 to the Executive and continued waiting for a response for a long time,” he said and added that there was no satisfactory response from the other side.

News about the survival of the Sierra Leone’s Peoples Party (SLPP) is not sending attractive signals of late. If it is not about constitutional matter between the Executive and National Council of Elders, it would be reports about defection of key members of the party to the ruling All Peoples Congress Party (APC).
