Posted by David Tam Baryoh on Apr 13, 2011, 11:20
Richard Awoonor Olu Gordon, commonly called Olu, was no stranger to me, at least before he died April 4, 2011 in London. In September 2010, Olu and I had more than two hours of discussion at his office on 14A George Street in Freetown. Our discussions veered towards his mother who had just died in Nigeria and how he too was having problems with his health, especially slower vibration of his heart and very low blood circulation in his hands and legs

May Joanna Mccormack....Rest In Peace
The news of the passing of Mrs. May Joanna McCormack (nee Davies), sent ripples of shockwaves filtering around the world. I was shaken to the core learning about her fate. For the rest of the day I was bombarded with more questions than answers. Like me, several people are asking but why? My intuition told me that May’s life was an insightful and spellbinding movie that ended too soon, if not prematurely.

It is with great sadness that the family of Hannah Barrie (nee Jallo-Jamboria)
Hannah Barrie(Nee Jallo-Jamboria) rest in peace
age 42 years (16 October 1966), announce her passing on Friday May 9, 2008 at The Connaught Hospital, Freetown after a caesarean operation at The PCM “Cottage” Hospital. The late Hannah Barrie worked as a well-respected Nurse at the  PCM and Connaught hospitals , but her proudest roll was not only as a mother to her three children but her passion in helping the sick get medical attention. Hannah’s conviction in contributing to Sierra Leone’s failing health sector gave her the courage and strength to return home after successfully completing her nursing in Milan, Italy and London, United Kingdom two years ago..Hannah’s greatest joy was to be there for her children and provide a loving home for her husband and family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 20 years Abu Bakarr ‘Adidas’ Barrie and their three beautiful children: Sahid, Haja Humu, and Hannatu Bintu who she so deeply loved.
